DIY Tunnel Greenhouse Build - full process. This spring, we built a DIY hoop or tunnel style greenhouse.
Dimensions are 28' long x 12' wide with about 6.5' or so of headroom.
Materials used are galvanized chain link fencing tubing for the frames, some lumber for tying the tubing together and for building the tunnel ends and doors, and UV protected greenhouse plastic.
Tools needed were very minimal - a sledge hammer, drill/driver, and a hand saw.
It has worked great - we've got a freezer full of food after a summer of growing, and are experimenting with some winter plants as well. It also is doubling as a bad-weather playpen (in the late fall/winter) for our chickens.
We've added a fair bit of soil amendments this fall (composted manure, compost), and hope to have an even better season next year with an earlier start with our seedlings.
Thanks for watching.
